My work is a search through various disciplines, styles and media. From a respect and love for both painting, graphics, illustration, design and animation (both high-and lowbrow), I try to unite these different worlds by means of collage, sampling or ‘hybridization’. I used to, from my training as a designer, create my images on computer before painting them. Recently I tend to work more intuitively and freely. The images are created in a more process-based / painterly way, inspired by the ideas and feelings of the moment. I prefer to let myself be guided, determined, by chance encounters during life, than to stick to a predefined concept.
I am a supporter of the absurdist philosophy as descirbed by Albert Camus (The Myth of Sisyphus).
